What is the difference between Waterproof  Watch Band and Water Resistant Watch Band?

Waterproof means it can be submerged in water and is meant to get wet. Water Resistant means it can only tolerate small splash and is not meant for water use.

What is a squeeze end  Watch Band?

When a band is labeled 18-22mm squeeze end it means that the watchband has a spring loaded end that will compress from 18mm, 19, 20mm, 21mm to 22mm. A squeeze end band is very convenient because it fits many different size lugs (where the band attaches to the watch) or watches.

What is a lug on a Watch Band?

Lugs are the part of the watch where the band attaches.

Can the buckle be removed from the Watch Band?

Yes, the buckles are held on by a simple spring bar (spring loaded bar) the same bar that attaches the band to the watch. All you have to do is compress the spring bar, tug the buckle a bit and the buckle will pop right off.

What is a spring bar?

A spring bar is a spring loaded stainless steel pin. The ends of a spring bar will compress enough so that you can install/remove the band on a watch or take a buckle on or off of a watchband.

What is a buckle?

A buckle is the part of the watch that keeps the band closed.

What does it mean when a Watch Band tappers?

When the side of the band that attaches to the watch (lugs) is 22mm and the buckle (where the band closes) is 22mm it means there is no tapper it is a straight band. When lugs are 22mm and the buckle is 20mm it means there is a slight tapper. If the lug end is 22mm and the buckle end is 14mm there is a larger tapper.

What Watch Band size do I need to fit my watch?

To determine your required band size, measure the distance (in millimeters) between the lugs (where strap attaches to your watch) of your watch.

How do I measure my Watch Band strap?

A watch band is always measured end to end excluding a watch and the buckle. Only the leather part of the strap gets measured. You can also measure the tip side (part with holes) and the buckle side (shorter side that had buckle attached to it). Then add the two side together.

How do I know what size Watch Band I need?

You will need to know your wrist measurement. You can do with a soft tape measure that you can get from any fabric store, or in a cheap sewing kit. Now measure, as lose, or as tight, as you wear a watch. Now subtract the length of the watch from springbar hole to springbar hole in the watch case (That is length you no longer need due to the length of the watch). This is the useable length of the band you need.

How do I know how long my Watch Band will need to be?

Most men’s regular size bands (7 1/2 inches to 7 7/8 inches) fit most men just fine. When you install your watch on your band the perfect fit is when the buckle closes right in the middle hole of the strap.

How long is a men’s regular Watch Band strap?

Most men’s regular length straps are 200mm or 7 7/8 inches. They are measured end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

Hadley-Roma men’s regular bands measure 7 1/2 inches to 7 7/8 inches. They are measured end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

How long is a men’s short Watch Band strap?

Most short bands are 180mm long. They are measured end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

Hadley-Roma men’s short bands are 6 1/2 inches to 7 inches end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

How long is a men’s long Watch Band strap?

Most men’s long bands are 220mm end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

Hadley-Roma long bands vary from 8 inches to 8 1/2 inches to end to end excluding a watch and the buckle, only measuring the leather.

How long is a men’s extra long Watch Band strap?

Hadley Roma’s XL is usually 8 ½ inches to 9 1/2inches end to end excluding buckle.

Most XL bands are 220mm or 8 11/16 inches

How long is a women’s Watch Band strap?

Hadley-Roma women’s regular are usually 6 ½ inches end to end excluding buckle.

Most women’s regular bands are 160mm end to end excluding buckle.

Can you put extra holes in my Watch Band?

I do have a tool that will punch a very small hole in a leather watch band however the hole punch on my tool is one size fits all and will not match the current holes on your strap. The holes are not perfect and once modification are made to the leather strap it is considered custom and can no longer be returned for a refund or a credit.

Does a deployment buckle make my Watch Band longer or shorter?

No a deployment buckle does not add extra length to a watch band. No a deployment buckle does not shorten the length of a watch band.

How do I open my deployment Watch Band buckle?

If you need to adjust your buckle so you can move it to a different hole on your watch band you can turn the buckle on its side. You will see a small dot on one side of the buckle. That small dot is the hinge of the buckle. On the opposite side of the hinge use your fingers and pull up and away from the buckle. The buckle will open just like a door.

What is the difference between a curved Watch Band end and straight Watch Band end?

When you have a straight end watch it will only accept straight end bands. The curve ends will not fit. When you have a curved end watch you can put a curved end band or a straight end strap on. Please refer to the measurement section for pictures.
